We already have more than enough data centers in the US if developers learn to start the harder path of chasing efficiency gains, rather than just throwing money at it and scaling

Data centers should run on power they generate themselves, not on a public grid that families and farms in Washington and Frederick Counties rely on. Energy independence, carbon-neutral commitments, and full transparency should be hard requirements before anything expands.
The Alcoa site should stop where it is. Let them finish and operate the buildings already standing, but no further buildout and no new land. They'll need that remaining acreage to fix how the facility runs: power, cooling, and water.
